Wildwood

A mid-century private retreat featured in Sunset Magazine and tucked under majestic oaks. The ultimate blend of nature and comfort.

An architectural dream

Welcome to Wildwood! We are so glad you're here.

Our home is located on a private lane at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, surrounded by mature trees and backing up to a year-round creek with a private sandy beach. Every room has floor-to-ceiling windows that keep this surrounding landscape constantly present.

Designed and built in 1965 by Tom Tomasi, a prominent Santa Rosa architect who created it specifically for his own family and lived there for 60 years, Wildwood is a Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired vision of California living. We are only the second family to own this beautiful home which has been featured multiple times in Sunset Magazine and celebrated for its handcrafted detail and architectural beauty. The original stone fireplace still anchors the space, floor-to-ceiling windows in every room bring the outside in, and the front door — hand-carved by Tomasi himself with redwood, chisels, and a simple pocket knife — is still the first thing you touch when you arrive.

Where everyone sleeps

Room for everyone, or just the two of you

Wildwood stretches to fit the trip. With four bedrooms (flexible sleeping for up to 10), the creek, the decks, and the hot tub to spread out, it's an easy fit for a family gathering, a milestone birthday, or a bachelorette weekend. But it's also a wonderful choice for your romantic get-a-way or intimate writer's retreat. Suddenly, the 2,600 square feet home feels intimate with cozy quiet mornings under the oaks or by the fire.

Perfect for private retreats

We love to host retreats of up to 10 people like groups of artists, grief circles, or any small group that is seeking room to breathe and slow down. If that sounds like you, tell us more about what you're planning and we'll figure out the details together.

While completely private, Wildwood is just minutes from Sonoma County's premier wineries, world-class dining, and scenic state parks.

A perfect place for a weekend bachelorette party in wine country. The home is even more gorgeous than the photos, and the architecture and the outdoor space were especially stunning.

Such a rare find to be able to stay in an authentic mid-century house with such beautiful original details. The creek is peaceful to sit by and great for discovering special elements of nature with our daughter.

The flow between inside and outside is seamless, the creek is steps away, and the hot tub was perfect at the end of the day. There's a stillness to this place that's hard to describe but easy to feel when you're here.

The photos in the listing just didn't do it justice! Truly magical in person! ... Comfortable for 3 households to hang out and sleep with plenty of room.
